Its started with windows phone 7 - the most rushed, unfinished OS ever made, but as it got updated, it kept on maturing. In the end though, the OS couldn't keep up with the ios and android. In 2012 windows phone 8 was released. Built on the same kernel as windows 8. Apps load way faster, new tile size and apps utilizing the lock screen. As it got updated, the Other Storage bug was fixed, apps can be closed in the multitask screen, third tile column was added and support for newer hardware. What was a utter mess in the beginning has improved significantly. Now with the 8.1 update coming up, windows phone will Rule The World!! TROLOLOLOL

Not really. It did got better, but still lacks too much to "rule the world!!". I would like to see that though.

With all honestly I can atleast say that after WP8.1, I will not have hard time convincing people to jump ship. Because it absolutely closes the feature bridge between iOS and Android.
