I'd actually like the OS if they brought back history and notifications for contacts. But so far there is no indication of such. They gutted the people app of its most useful functions to make round pictures.

Having made extensive use of both versions I find 8.1 a lot more consistent, fluid and has that just works feeling. Windows Phone 10 feels a bit more android like in some ways without having the benefits of being android.
My favorite things in WP 10 is the native weather app and the action center improvements. The deep skype integration is also something I'm looking forward to.

- A UI better optimized for mobile (like 8.1). In making Continuum they seemed to forget it should be a mobile device first.
- A photo viewer that doesn't take an eternity to load new images (even slow in Win 10 desktop).
- Ability to select photos by folder.
- Better use of theming. Theming took a few steps backwards in WP 10.
