Lumia 1020 post Black update

Hi folks,

I just wanted to share some pictures from my Lumia 1020 post Black update!

Yes, the yellow tint has gone completely in artificial light scenes. The results look really promising. I am not really sure about any big improvement in noise levels as I might have a placebo effect.

The pictures do look clear with great white balance.

First: Original scene screenshot
Second: without flash (no yellow tint)
Third: with flash (no yellow tint again)

Fourth: normal daylight/cloudy (Auto)
Fifth: normal daylight/cloudy (Auto)
Sixth: Max zoom (Auto)

Wow, the result is so incredible. But I'm so sad because I have an international one and have to wait for the update. Hix. Very excited about this update. Do u have a 1520? Very interesting about camera performance of 1020 compare with 1520 after this update.

I am sorry, I do not have 1520. I am pretty sure WPcentral is getting that comparison post ready as we speak. Nokia should release the update to the world before Christmas. Black looks very stable.

Yeah I hope mine will be updated before Christmas. I'm on my wife LG G2 and looking forward to the Black update to come back with my 1020. Hehe. MS is so kind to release this update before Christmas. Cheer for Lumia fan! :-D

I sure hope they finally release it for Canada. I wanted to have this before the holidays to take a ton of photos. Looks like my SLR is coming out to play. Wish the firmware updates were pushed by the manufacturer. That's one thing I miss about Android. No flashing

I notice it says reframing is not available in DNG mode, but it seems to work fine for me. Anyone else notice this?

I just tried and the reframing works! It uses the 5mp image, though. DNG can not be read on phone to reframe.

I won't say, they look natural. The blue wall is not as bright as second picture. It is more closer to the third picture in real.

If you want to reduce saturation, your best bet is to use Proshot and reduce it in settings.

I have also an international sim free lumia 1020. The thing is I am still on 3049 firmware with "your phone is up to date". Shouldn't I be on 3050 by now?

I also have 1020,bought in Costa Rica,but checked system on extras and info and it says:Lumia Amber RM875_apac_austrailia_new_zealand_222,label id 3050.0000.1338.10230.
Question:Is that the latest 3050 firmware?Is it still the RM 875 global model or is it country specific?Last,i checked for updates and it said up to date,i thought from reading the forum that only US,AT+T models are delayed from getting Black,mine is not AT+T,when should i get Black update,there is a slight yellow tone under some lighting when using camera like others here said.

um nobody said that. It just means it is coming later.

CCould be worse. You could have android and your phone could be like 2 updates behind the current version. Give it ssometime.

Sweet update, according to all about windows phone the yellow tint is gone, colors are more accurate and noise has been decreased significantly!! I have a Euro 1020 so hopefully the update will be released soon here.

Did you buy your 1020 locked to AT&T? If not, you have not received the Black update yet.

Thanks for your answer. Its not AT&T. I am asking about the previous update. I am on 3049. Is this normal? Shouldnt it be on 3050 in order for the black update to be applied? I have read that the 3050 firmware was updated since september.
