Its so exiting, tomorrow is the event and just in couple of days I will be holding my Lumia 1020
I am switching form my 2.5 years used N8. Tell me from which phone you guys are switching form.

The phone is going to launch after 2 weeks on October 11th
Price will be revealed on October 10th

Economy, US and UK are in a mess internally, debt is eating up everything. India is not that bad at the moment, so squeeze out as much as you can

and here I was thinking naively that they will offer the camera grip free as they are launching the device so late. hahaha :grin:

if the camera grip is priced so high, then the 1020 might be priced close to 50k...

Since last year I have noticed a that Nokia has a fixed time interval between initial Launch of any flagship Lumia till the date that flagship goes sell in India. After the launch of Lumia 920 it took 3 Months for Nokia to start selling Lumia 920 in India. Same happened with Lumia 925, After the event in New York it took 3.1 month for Lumia 925 to go on sell in India and now the same thing is happening with Lumia 1020. It was announced on July 11 in New York and now it will start selling in India on October 11, Notice that this is exact 3 months gap between Main announcement and the day it goes on sale in India so now I think we can predict that when the next Lumia flagship (Lumia 1520) will launch in India after its Main event.

Nokia is pretty stupid if they think that after delaying for 3 months they will be able to get away with a price tag of 45+ K.. It's not going to happen.. If they do price it that high.. I'd much rather wait for the price to come down or switch to HTC One.. It's just that the after sale services of HTC are crap! Else, I'd have bought it by now :\

Ya the price of the fone shld be around 40k iam saying mrp...and grip is 7500 mrp will sell around 6k I guess since I have a store....lets wait for oct 10...I will get mine on 11 oct...

Lumia 1020 will start selling in Singapore form October 5 and they are offering FREE CAMERA GRIP then why don't they offer free camera grip in India.

Ya but most ppl get grip free coz there r on 2 year contract....in india tat scheme is not there...but I think the ones tat will be buying in mrp price at initial launch shld get free grip....even with 808 nokia gave a nice case fr it...hope they give the grip or charging cover free. ..

Guys, I'm seriously considering buying the Xperia Z1 over the Lumia 1020 now. If the late release was not enough I think the price is going to be too high to justify the purchase. If it's for ~40K it's still worth it. I was holding out for the Lumia 1020 because of the camera but I guess even Xperia Z1 has a decent camera.. And it blows the Lumia 1020 on the spec sheet.. More importantly, it's battery life should be better than Lumia 1020.. It's just that I like Windows Phone OS a lot even though android has way way more apps.. still thinking which to buy :\

How does Z1 blow 1020 on the spec sheet ?

And even the screen on the Z1 isn't as good as the 1020 except the resolution. But at 4.5 inch 720p is good enough too.
