Which one is the overall better phone?

I was thinking of getting the 1020, but I read about many issues in the 1020 forums (dust underneath screen, etc.) and I am reconsidering.

I recently just switched from a 1020 to a 830. I regret nothing. I find this phone performs faster, the camera is still good quality but doesn't take 5 minutes to take a picture, and I see fewer "resuming" screens

Did you have issues with your 1020 such as dust underneath the screen?

To me it would be what you want more? The camera on the 1020 is still the best camera in a smart phone out there, although that is changing slowly. as the competition is slowly creeping up to that level.

The 1020 is going to get you slower picture to picture, but the ones you do get will be incredible (barring user error) The 830 camera is no slouch, but there are no comparing it to the 1020. The 1020 has a very nice feel in the hand, but is heavier than the 830.

I have an 830 and am VERY happy with it, it does everything I need and more. The camera is pretty darn good, and will benefit immensely from the camera 5 and final parts of the denim update when they are released. The 1020 unfortunately will not benefit from the denim update or camera 5 due to its aging hardware.

My wife owns a 1020, and is very happy with it as well. If we need a family picture of high quality, we use her phone, if we need some quick snaps of my toddler we use my phone.
