Lumia 1030/McLaren images surface

Looks like a genuine prototype Maclaren. Would love to buy it for posterity.
Go to the main article (Leaked images of supposed Lumia 1030 prototype appear online | Windows Central) and look for the comment by "Live2Deliver" - he translated the source of these leaks, it's a phone for sale on taobao.com. The key part of his translation is how it is a phone "already abandoned and stopped", and the screen operates without the finger touching the screen - that's Maclaren.

Where there's smoke, there's fire. Now rumors of 50mp and a larger sensor. All I care about is the 4300mah battery. THAT is the deal breaker. No more sub 3000mah on a flagship. Nothing flagship about having to carry a battery pack due to no one making decent accessory juice cases. 50mp, 4300mah battery, and windows 10 will make it THE phone to contend with.

A 50MP sensor and a 4000 power battery will make it insanely thick. Practically it's not possible. We all want highest spec hardware with best camera and a huge battery. But how will it be possible in a 5 inches device with > 9mm form factor?

Whatever it is, Microsoft, just make sure it's not the Samsung Zoom. Great camera, awful phone.

I actually like the hump. One thing I really like about the 1020 and even 830 is that with such an obvious camera hump, people don't have the awkward, "where do I look" moment. Also, with the camera case, the 1020 looks much more professional than a naked 920 in use. In general it aesthetically draws away from a cameraphone look to something much more like a traditional point-and-shoot.

This can be real, looks good except the hump on back

apparently it WAS real at one point. This was confirmed by Tom Warran to be the McLaren. He tweeted yesterday

"There is no Lumia 1030 right now. The leaked device is the canceled Nokia McLaren. It was never a 50-megapixel camera, just around 20MP"

Quite pleased at that news, it gives me hope that whatever will come next year will be better!

One thing I find interesting is that this phone does not have the Nokia logo on it like how past Nokia prototype devices did. The back does say proto.nokia.com but the phone looks unbranded for the most part.
