Lumia 1520 and 8.1 update 2 - Battery drain

Of late, I am charging my lumia 1520 running wp8.1 u2 atleast TWICE daily.
Its a 18month old phone.

The strange behaviour is the phone switching off a minute into the "critical" percentage.
When i plug it back in, I see there's ATLEAST 15% on most times.

Some more details.

I am a frequent user of the following apps:
9gag
aeries
Internet explorer ( general browsing )
facebook beta

And I use myTube to browse the videos from channels I subscribe to.

I did see battery drain when using Aeries a lot even before Update 2.
Now, the drain is more prominent.

This was the sequence of events today
I woke up at 7 and unplugged my phone from the charger. It was at 100%.
I watched a few videos of the new One plus 2 and the new ipod ( less than 15 mins )
I browsed quora for about 10 mins.
Switched off DATA and WIFI and played a bit of Stick Cricket.

Then, I went back into Aeries twitter app.
Browsed for about 15 minutes.

At this moment, the phone was about 53%

Back to Stick cricket for about 10 minutes.

Battery criticall low.

Shutdown!

The time is 8:50 AM!!!

The battery went from 100% to shutdown in about 2 hours.

Something is really wrong with wp8.1 u2.

Anybody else on the same boat?

I installed a version of WP10 and then went back to 8.1 (2) and am now experiencing similar problems you are. Invariably when I have approx 55% battery life left I get a low battery warning followed by shutdown. If I plug in a charger then the phone restarts and the battery is still at 55% I can sometimes then remove the charger and it will drain normally to 6% then shutdown. It is real pain !

I have the same problem. Unfortunately I have not gotten any updates on how to fix. I have to agree with the OP. I haven't run any other OS except Windows Phone 8.1, Denim Update.
