lumia 1520 unlocked, but no lte. please help

I got my lumia 1520 unlocked yesterday thru att. I shows i have 4G. any reason i do not get lte in chicago? i set the apn, everything is working. i purchased a starter kit with nano sim, but it was a legacy sim. Should i change my sim? Thanks.

You unlocked it through AT&T and you are using it on the AT&T network? or on the T-Mobile network?

i'm now using it on tmobile.

I've seen several other posts similar to yours. The RM-940 from AT&T is suppose to have LTE band 4 which is what T-Mobile uses for LTE. My best guess is either it doesn't have LTE band 4 or it's being blocked by AT&T so people can't use LTE through T-Mobile. The 3G through T-Mobile is pretty fast.

Thanks. I'm getting about 5 mbits/s down 1.5 up on refarmed 1900. i'm gonna try getting the latest sim, i've read that some have had success with lte. att was too expensive; postpaid 8 GB plan was 115/mo with taxes etc, it was 170/mo. I'm now on the tmo 30/mo with 5GB.

Thanks for all your help. I went to a tmobile store, mentioned that I talked to customer service, all apn settings are correct. Have band 4 & 17 for lte, they put the latest model sim card in there and now I have lte @ 25 Mbps and 20 up.

Hello WP8 fan, I wanted to ask since you just unlocked your 1520 and using it on T-mobile. Do you happen to have internet sharing on this device? I recently unlocked mine and it works flawlessly, except it doesn't appear to have internet sharing. Would you please care for any feedback?

i turned on internet sharing and "plan does not have internet sharing" and ask for $15 to turn on the feature. thats as far as i go, cause i won't be needing it.
