lumia 520 battery error

my lumia 520 running on wp 8.1....... when I try to boot it gives me battery low logo then give me a battery with a question mark (?) on it then shut down.
I can't switch it on cause every time it makes this, please help!

Have you got it on charge if so try a hard reset that will properly sort out the issue which seem to be a bug/glitch.
