Lumia 535 can't scan QR code in Whatsapp web anymore

Build 14393.576. Has worked before, now it seems to continually adjust its focus. Can't scan the QR code in WhatsApp in neither the browser version nor the desktop app. I can successfully scan an app code using 3rd party scanner, so definitely there's nothing wrong with my camera. Any ideas?

I'm unsure. It may just be the app if a third party QR scanner works fine.

I've even tried reinstalling Whatsapp, same results.

Whatsapp in browser version is working fine with my 535DS.
The desktop app is not opening at all,showing 'Retrying in ...secs' all the time today .It was working fine at the beginning of this month.
