Lumia 635 voice notes not working

When I press "done"on the voice notes screen, the SensorCore kicks in and turns off the screen. It turns back on when I lift my finger. I have to lock my phone to escape. I have a Mr shield screen protector and Windows phone 8.1.1 DP. Are there any fixes?

I am also experiencing this same behavior. Tried a soft reset to no avail. Running 8.1/Cyan/AT&T GoPhone. Any suggestions?
