Hi all,

I am looking to upgrade my L620 to an L640 soon, and just a couple of queries regarding the locked to unlocked status of phones. My L620 is unlocked and has worked a treat, and indeed got all the OS updated swiftly.
If I go for a locked to O2 handset does anyone know if there is a lot of bloatware (assuming most of this can be removed anyway) and is there a possibility of any future updates (Windows 10) may roll out way after it is originally launched.
I am just weighing up the option of just getting the locked version, or to pay the slightly more for the unlocked, in general this is about ?20 difference, is it worth the money really?
Thanks

Go SIM free.

That way you can avoid any carrier blocking or dragging their feet with regards to updates. Any 'bloat' generally is removable on WP. However you can't remove any start up splash screens. Also, unlocking your phone does not take you away from carrier update cycles.

You also have the added advantage of moving carriers any time you want.

Getting a carrier locked version is too painful. Trust me.
