Lumia 720 Feather Touch keys Works Automatically

Hi Guys,

from past 3 days my lumia 720 is behaving in a very weird manner.

What happens is whenever a call comes on my phone the three feather touch buttons:
--------
> Back button
> Windows Button
> Bing Seach button
These buttons activate on their own and either bing seach page opens up, either the back button gets activated and applications get closed or the windows button gets activated and home is displayed.
--Phone vibrates like hell during this time because these buttons get activated simultaneously
--And the Call Screen disappears and a horizontal band on the screen top displays "Tap to Expand".
--during this period the screen also stops responding to touch only the side keys work (Power, Volume-up/Down and camera).
--after sometime all this stops and phone becomes normal.

From yesterday these things have started happening even when I normally use the phone and my only option is to lock the screen of the phone and again unlock, sometimes this works and sometimes doesn't.

I have tried soft-resetting my phone 2-3 times but nothing happened.

I would appreciate if anyone can suggest if this is an OS problem or an Hardware problem.

I also faced d same issue. I got my L720 repaired from Nokia care. Now it works fine.

Hi,
I dint go to receive the delivery so could not ask. But I think, it is the problem with hardware.
I found the same answer when I searched Microsoft community.

Went to the NOkia Care store today as the phone was completely out of control.
There they said that the display needs to be checked and have kept the phone for 10 days.

They do not even give a replacement phone to use in the interim period.

The Nokia guys have taken my phone for 10 days to rectify the issue.... you also please contact nokia care guys

Hi Prakash, Did you use any charger other than the one supplied by Nokia along with the phone ?

It's your proximity sensor that's not turning off your screen completely during the call. You can try to reproduce the scenario by calling a number and then while on the call lock screen, unlocking screen and then press Windows button. If that's the case then it's pretty normal, either you're not maintaining constant contact with the proximity sensor all the time and hence the accidental touches to the buttons, or the the issue you speak of is something totally different.

I experienced the same problem a while ago. N I got my touch screen replaced .. It's completely fine now.
So it is a hardware problem ...

I am having the same problem with my L720. The phone literally hangs b/w times and the touch with the 3 keys stop responding and starts working automatically... I just lock my phone and then unlock it.. for a moment the things go normal and then again it starts doing the same things. This is not just while calling but normally it would do so. It has become quite a headache now. Also the battery drains much more faster now with wp8.1.. It is the official update and not the developer's..The music player app sucks..The tiles take a few seconds to load and the phone feels more slower than before.. Please help.
