Lumia 730 brightness issue, is this a sensor defect?

lumia 730 brightness issue

when I put 'automatic' brightness setting on my lumia 730, the screen became over bright under direct sunlight . It became too bright. I never face such problem on my old lumia 520. Is it because of brightness sensor defect? Please help me.

I think there is a Sunlight Readability option in the settings, under display.

Try turning that off.

Maybe some dirt or dust could hamper sensor's accuracy. The sensor takes some time to reduce brightness and its bad for oled screen to switch brightness back and forth quickly.
