lumia 820 & 920 priced in europe

I am a little confused as to what this means for us in America. Can we expect the same price and release date or does it tend to be more or less...?

Here's how it translates for US customers:

iPhone 5 (16GB) - ?679 / $649
iPhone 5 (32GB) - ?789 / $749
Lumia 820 (16G) - ?499 / $476 ($449?)
Lumia 920 (32G) - ?599 / $568 ($549?)

Guys. Don't forget that these prices may never come to North America as Nokia have agreements with certain carriers to keep the phone somewhat "exclusive".

Just like you can't buy an unlocked Lumia 900 in the US right now. (AT&T then unclocked by 3rd party is a different story)

For North America this means nothing, other than that Lumia's seem to be launching November (what a shocker).
Nokia will have it's own model for carrier(s) in North America for the carrier specific LTE, current Lumia 920 supports European LTE bands.

Yea, this isn't how the world works. You cannot just translate to USD. Countries like Italy have big import taxes that we do not have in the U.S.

Why do you think Australia pays like 60% more for video games?

:dry

These numbers were "translated" not "converted". I didn't simply do a currency conversion. In other words, I took the difference between the known prices of the iPhone 5 in EU and the US and used the same ratio to estimate Nokia prices. As a result, those prices should be about right.

I second vp710's 'translation'. In Germany's pricing case, the 920 is 50 more

iPhone 5 (16GB) - €679 / $649
iPhone 5 (32GB) - €789 / $749

Lumia 920 (32G) - €649 / $599

$149 in AT&T with 2yr contract seems to make sense.
