Anyone else hoping that Nokia/MSFT/Verizon will release a successor to the 822? While the 929 looks really cool, I just can't use a phone that big. My hands are way too small, and I prefer being able to use my phone with one hand without feeling like I'll drop it. Even the 928 is a too big for me.

I hope we see an 822 successor with a similar form factor but upgraded hardware. Really all I want is an 822 with a 720p screen and a PureView camera. Anything else would be just gravy.

I hope we hear some news soon!

I guess 5" is not that big it feels pretty awesome in hands and is easily useable with one hand... I would love that with specs like 1020 supporting SD card

I went from an 822 to 928 (long story). Generally speaking, phones are pretty much the same dimension, with 822 being just a tad smaller. Supposedly 929 is just a few mm bigger than the 928. That being said - I find the 928 already on the iffy side as far as single hand use (thumbing while holding) and I am 6'2'' with pretty large hands. I can't imagine that a 5 inch screen will not require two hands for most scenarios but It could be just me.

I hear you on the camera though; while 822 camera was okay I thought, 928 is definitely an upgrade in that department.

I was at the Microsoft store and compared my 822 with all the other phones. God, how I wish the 1020 were available on Verizon! It's not that much bigger than the 822.

I want something smaller than the 929 as well. The 822 is as big as I want to go and they could make an even smaller 4.3" phone if they just make the bezels a little smaller and make it thinner. The 822 is kind of thick as far as phones go these days.

You're right about the thickness. I do however, like those round edges on it and the darn thing has been rock solid for over a year!

That's what she said. No, really, I love my red 822, and would really like an upgraded model with higher screen resolution.

I like rounded edges as well! I really hope we get a successor to the 822 soon because it was the most popular WP in the US before the 520/521 came out.

Hmm. For a carrier like Verizon (or any carrier that has contracts, for that matter), a mid-range phone doesn't really make sense, especially when the flagship costs just $99 more.

An 822 successor will be quite successful, though.
