Lumia 950 Stuck downloading update

I have a brand new Lumia 950 and am on the slow ring. It has stalled at 97% downloading 10.0.14965.1001. I have tried turning off phone and pulling battery, I have tried a complete reset of phone. Same thing keeps happening. Phone runs hot while trying to download.
The phone is currently on build 10.0.14393.693
Is there anyway to get this build to download and install?

I have the same issue, rebooted and now it's stuck at 47%

Ok, I used WDRT on phone.

So I have 2 questions.

What is the benefit of using the WDRT vs just resetting the phone? Neither one puts the latest released OS on phone so you still need to do on update with both and all apps have to reinstall on both.

Is there a safe Windows Insider Ring OS that can be loaded on the phone? OS 10.0.14965.1001 did not load, will Release Preview work?

I'm experiencing the same problem on my 950 xl. I've gotten it up to 98%, but no further. Phone is running really hot and I have to keep it plugged in for the battery to not drain in an hour or two. I usually run on the release preview ring, but decided to jump to the slow ring to try to convince the phone to start notifying me about sms messages again. I found a forum post that showed me how to force a restart of the update process. I restarted it, same result.
