Lumia 950 Texting Problem, how can I fix the typing window so that it is not blocked by the keyboard?

Lumia 950 Texting Problem

When I Type a text message, the "typing window" is now blocked by the keyboard, so I cannot see the letters as I type them. Before this, the "typing window" would move to just above the keyboard, so I could see the text as I was typing it. I did not install any new apps yesterday.

Can you push the keyboard up and over the text field?

edit: Press and hold the spacebar and move upward.
