Lumia 950 XL, Gyroscope

Hello all,

I just bought a Lumia 950 XL.
Before i had an 'Ativ S'

Within the spec of the lumia a gyroscope is listed.
I don't know if i have to enable this function on the lumia 950 , but at the moment it doesn't seem to work.

E.g. I open the Microsoft Maps , change the view. Now i am used to click on the compass and i could 'turn' the phone and the 'view' is changing too.
But this isn't working on my Lumia 950. (ativ s it did work)

Also a soft reset shows not the effect i hoped.
Any hint ?

The rotating map orientation based on actual phone orientation is not caused by the gyroscope, but rather that is caused by the compass.

However, that feature doesn't seem to be present in Windows 10 Mobile Maps (I was also trying to figure out how to make that work). You don't need to manually activate any of those sensors, since they are automatically activated when the phone or an app needs to use it.

Nonetheless, you may check if the sensors of your phone are still working by downloading any sensor-checking app, such as Aida64 or Sensor Emitter.
