I'm running the .107 insider preview on my ATT 830 and it seems the motion data isn't working. Anyone else having this issue? Microsoft Health isn't tracking any of my steps. I don't use the Band or Band 2, but I never have.

False alarm. Somehow the motion setting was turned off in the MS Health app, so it wasn't tracking unless you were wearing a Band. Must have happened with an update. Turned it back on and will test tomorrow.

I haven't had motion data working for a while - MS Health is installed, but Lumia Motion Data (under settings) says that I don't have any apps that use motion data.
On the other hand, "Motion Data" lists MS Health, but it hasn't recorded anything for months ...

Unlike msn h&f, ms health requires a band to track motion, I seriously dunno Wth ms was thinking when they implemented this...

That's not true. My GF has MS health installed and it tracks steps perfectly fine with her L950

U sure? So far for me ms health has not tracked my steps, but I've managed to get msn h&f to work perfectly fine, even after they "closed"
it.

No band, btw.

MS health did track my steps in my Lumia 950 XL before the Redstone update but after that it completely screwed everything. Even Fitbit does not work anymore. But the funny thing is the weekly report Fitbit emails me has all my steps it tracked but the app does not show any.

Yeh I get exactly the same thing with other apps, the only one I've seen tracking steps in real time is msn h&f.

MS Health does track steps for me now after I changed the setting. I do not use a Band or Band 2.

MS health does not track my steps on officially win 10 updated lumia 830, doesn't even show live tile, slow useless app, Runtastic Me doesn't count steps as well, is there any app that works..

If you had msn h&f you can still get it if go to the store, my library. After you have installed it it might run for the first time, if it runs pin the steps counter to the start screen. If the app doesn't open, wait till you get the steps achievement notification, tap the notification and pin the steps counter to the start screen.

So faro this works for me, but it might not be long before ms takes it down.

One more reason NOT to update my 830 to W10. My MS health tracks my steps perfectly on 8.1 and I would like to keep it that way. As far as I have noticed from users W10 is far from perfect and has just to many issues for me to update.

Same on my 640. Steps tracker Works fine on 8.1 but not properly on WP10.

So, decided to go back to 8.1, been with it for a week, and OMG, I had to get back on W10M, and started using FitBit, which seems to be working properly, its step counter works in real time, no internet connection needed (unlike MS Health).

Will grab some more apps to test.

I've discovered Tracker works on W10 but doesn't display anything unless I turn on location/gps

Even if I've had it off all day. When I turn it on in the evening, the activity has been captured, it just doesn't display till I turn on location.

Its a bit slow though. I must try fitbit.
