Yesterday I updated my Lumia 1020 to Lumia Cyan. I've been using WP 8.1.1 with developer preview. Today I left my phone at home, I didn't use it and when I tried to pick it up I actually got scared, it was so extremely hot that I thought it will explode. After few seconds I got warning that battery is low but I know that it was around 70% when iI left it(I've left it only for 1 hour). I turned it off so it could cold before I charge it. Anyone with same problem here? Any fix? I'm little afraid now to use it because it was ultra hot.

You probably had a hung process, maybe left over after the update. Turning off your phone may have cleared it. If not, try a soft reset (hold power button and volume down until Nokia logo displays for restart). I make a point of always doing a soft reset after any update finishes, to head off problems like this. Good luck!

Yes, restart solved my problem. I hope that it will not happen again over the night. If it happens again I'll try your advice. Thank you :)

I had the same thing happen to me after the Cyan update. Phone had been charged overnight so was on 100% battery. Installed Cyan, then left my phone sitting there doing nothing. Came back 1 hour later and saw my battery was down to 28%. Can't remember how hot it was, but did a reboot and it hasn't happened since. Been going fine for about a week.

I also got now some more updates for preview for developers. Here is the list:
8.10.12400.899
8.10.14176.243
8.10.14147.180
8.10.14157.200

I currently have 14176 so I'm not sure is this going to wipe my current update?
