Posted in wrong section. Didn't realize we had an OSX section. My bad. On a side note is 8.1 free if you have windows 7? Nope. see what i'm talking about? Can a mod please fix my screw up and move this thread? thanks

that is how Microsoft works. You see them moving to a similar model with Windows 8 to 8.1 , anyway everyone (I mean 100%) around me uses windows and I cant see them switching to OSX coz of free upgrades. As usual I might sound like I hate OSX but for many people windows just works on PCs , tablets is a different ball game.

I see mostly Windows 7 PCs, this is India, people are price sensitive but they don't see OSX as an option and People who are buying new laptops/PCs here get Windows 8 with the device. In my household we have 2 Windows 8 machines, 1 Windows 8.1, 2 Androids, 2 Windows Phones, 1 iPhone 5 , 1 BB Playbook (sigh I know) ...

The thing is 10.9 is a major update like from Win7 to Win8 and this upgrade costs 129$ or something, on the other hand from 2009 10.6 you can update to a brand new system.
