Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter & Surface Pro 4

Tried it in a different environment , same problem....

Is it working for anyone else on the AU?

It has to be something with the surface pro 4 because It connects fine to my phone so at least I know the adapter is working...

Don't have another computer device to try it out with..

Got it fixed. Apparently the wireless adapter for this connection was disabled.

I have the SP4 i7 16GB RAM which has a resolution of 2736 X 1824 and a dell monitor with resolution 3840 X 2160.

I get the resolution of 3840 X 2160 with I connect the Dell monitor to my SP4 using the miniDisplayport.

But when I use the MWDA, I can only get 1920 X 1080 max

How can I get 3840 X 2160 on my Dell monitor using MWDA?

Nope.Seems that is the max.

This is a tangent, but would anyone say the WDA might work as an alternative to a Chromecast? I have a v2 Chromecast, but my connection still seems to flake out at the drop of a hat.

I noticed since updating to 14393.187, the connect connects immediately on the first attempt now.

However, I just got prompted to update the firmware on the adapater... Honestly, i'm scared to because it's working fine lol. Don't want to break it again.

Thanks for the update - Chromecast it is, I suppose. Things seem to have improved a little after entering Google's beta firmware program.

I am looking to get '2' surface pro 4's for a client presentation. I will use one as the 'source', and have the client holding the 2nd as a display/mirrored. can the surface pro 4 do this? can you screen share to another surface pro, or only a tv/projector?

Did you try using teamviewer with LAN only setting? it's free and easy to test if that works for you. Completely software. LAN only is important. Otherwise, your originating SP4 will send data thru the internet and then back down to the receiving SP4. When you set LAN only connections, it will only send information through the LAN, greatly increasing throughput
