I'm currently on build 10536 and while the hotspot turns on, allows me to edit, etc. I'm unable to connect to it, has anyone seen this behavior and know of a fix? The message I get back from my laptop (win10) is basically "unable to connect".

A cursory search hasn't turned up much so I thought I would see if anyone here had any ideas.

I did a hard reset and started with a fresh phone with 10536 as well.

Thanks!

Do you have another wifi enabled device you can try? At least ensure that the problem is on the phone and not the PC.

Yes, I also tried my Dell Venue 8 Pro. I'll have to try another non Win10 device just to see if that can connect.

Just put my 1520-15536 in Hotspot mode. I DID switch the Network Password (key) to something friendly.
Was able to connect with Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 devices.
(Nokia 2520, Surface Pro 2)

Runs sweet too. LTE in Houston metropolis is smoking fast most of the time. At least on the South Side of the city.
A little slower where I live. (Deep in the woods in rural area)

1520.3 and 10536 here. After the install/upgrade NO hard reset was done, I had an issue with that with the 8.1 upgrades. So I didn't do it here.

Works fine currently

Out of curiosity, check if you have WIFI enabled (aka youre connected to a wifi access point) when you are enabling your WIFI Tethering option.

I had issues in the past on this phone that if I turned on the WIFI tethering while I was connected to a WIFI access point that I would have issues.
I found that if I disconnected from the WIFI access point and fell back to LTE data from my carrier, that the WIFI tethering worked fine.

Just an idea....
