I'm thinking there is more of a battery drain with the latest build on my Lumia 930. Anyone else concur with their devices? My phone was @ 100% around 2pm yesterday after a charge then this a.m. it's @ 36% with minimal useage. Normally around the same time frame I'd still see a 60~70% charge with roughly same useage. I thought I'd check here before submitting this observation thru the WIP feedback.

Same here. I went back to 8.1. 100% to 39% - 4hours since unplugging charger.

*Hard reset performed and I kept it on charger while installing apps in background and playing with settings.

I've had only 10-15 additional apps installed, and motion data/localization/nfc/bluetooth turned off.

Microsoft is currently investigating battery reports of high battery usage. They're collecting field medic reports from MVPs who have reported the same issue.

I've been noticing that on my 830, as well. After four-and-a-half hours of minimal usage, it's down to 51%. Normally, it would be between 80 or 90% with the same usage. Massive battery drain.

I think this is related to Microsoft Edge. Try soft resetting your device and when it's rebooted, see if you can avoid using Edge for as long as possible and then see how your battery life goes. I don't think that closing it using the task explorer really closes it down enough.

I've only done this for a few hours and it seems to be making a difference to me.

I have a Lumia 830 as well (RM-985).

Originally, I upgraded from 10512 to 10536 and experienced issues (Messaging app went missing). Thus, I did a revert back to 8.1 just yesterday. I then upgraded back to 10536. At first, I encountered massive battery drain; overnight it drained more than thirty percent when it shouldn't have. I did a soft reset (hold volume down + power) and it works great now. 1-2% per hour on standby.

Not sure if this anecdotal experience will help you at all, though I figure it's worth mentioning.

For me it is 'Start'. According to my battery saver info 'Start' is the app using the majority of my battery, mostly in background. I'm assuming this might have something to do with live tiles or the resuming.. Maybe removing all apps from start might help, didn't try.

Restarting does help the problem in the sense it won't continue to drain the battery this time, but it doesn't prevent it from happening again. Already reported via feedback.

II'll give this a shot. Thanks for your tip.

Nope. Did not work. Had to roll back to 8.1. Damn shame. I really enjoyed most of the preview build.

I cut location off today and noticed a big difference in battery life. Give that a try and see if u notice a big increase in battery life

Location is always turned off on my phone. Unless apps access it without my permission. I'll give that a try. Thanks!
