MS Band Users on Strava

It's a known bug, but Strava is blaming Microsoft, even though if you download the activity as GPX and reupload to Strava this often fixes the issue. Personally, I have to boost the last GP point so it logs a full run, else I miss out on PBs.

Here's the relevant Strava support ticket (sorry I can't post link until my account has 10 posts!)

Thanks for the link, makes for some interesting reading. To be honeset I have started deleting my synched Band runs from Strava now as I prefer to rely on my synced Garmin runs instead.

I'm not sure if this will get resolved quickly, Strava obviously seem to blame MS for the data exported, but reimporting the same data through Strava fixes any differences. I'll still use my Band alongside my Garmin, they give me pretty much identical readings, however, I'm not sure if the Band battery will last on some of my longer runs as the battery does take a hammering from the GPS.

Has anyone tested how long it will last as a matter of interest?

Since I opted for the new GPS power saving mode I have noticed the distances between my Garmin 200 and the Band 2 are very different (10%). I can see in certain legs a very truncated course especially when going around s bends. The band thinks I have gone cross country therefore Strava ignores the segment. On my ride today I had 5 trophies via my Band while Garmin data gave me 21 and a whole bunch of PBs. On the up side I have recorded a record top speed of 644.5km/hr. I was going downhill and had a slight tail wind but I still not sure how I exceeded terminal velocity. It is a new bike and I was in the zone ... but I think I might turn off GPS power saving mode and see how it goes. Anyone else having similar issues?

I had major issues on two long runs. On MS health the times were fine but the strava data shortened the moving time from 1h45m to 32mins so my average pace was very wrong. A friend had a look at the gpx files from strava and noticed that instead of taking a measurement less often and losing some accuracy on the gps data, instead it duplicated data points. He wrote a program to remove the duplicates and once I uploaded that to strava the information and average pace was more accurate. I won't be using gps saver mode again.
