MS Remote Desktop for WP 8.0/8.1? Anytime in the near future?

Is MS EVER going to release Remote Desktop for WP8.0/8.1? It has "supposedly" been in the works since last year. What gives MS?

The remote desktop client Microsoft released is nice, but I sincerely doubt it will ever surpass the connectMe app.

If you want to use rdp, go get that app from the store.
