My 920's backup isn't working: how do I fix it?

Can someone link me that article that WPC published a few months ago? (8.1) I have the 96% error bug. Already tried a.soft reset.

Delete your previous backup, do a soft reset, then try again.

I deleted my backup and tried again. Still did not work. Any other suggestions? I now have no backups.

I had the same problem. When I switch sync my settings all to on then backup works normally. Not sure if it is just my phone though.
