My favorites disappeared

I gave my daughter my old computer. I set it up at her house and removed all my documents, pictures, and favorites. When I got home all my favorites on my new computer are no longer there. Would that have happened because I was signed into Microsoft on both computers?

I don't know exactly but there may be a chance that you may lose your data because the sign in ID is same for both

If your daughter was signed in to your account and deleted your Favourites folder then yes, it would happen to you as well. It's best to set up your daughter with her own account and not share.
