Do you have either WiFi sense or Cortana live tile?

Wifi Sense = no i turn this off, i like to select what i connect to.
Cortana Live Tile: i dont have this in my region (Sweden) i think, i can hold the search button a few second and use Cortana (i think thats Cornata?) but i dont find it among my apps.

I only got the heating problem once so far (have had the 1520 for 6 weeks. I think Wifi Sense was turned on at the time so it might have a connection.
Regular wifi is pretty much on always for me and no heating issue with that (as said Wifi sense is off).

Have been having this same problem (heating up) and cannot pinpoint the app that is hanging up and draining the battery. Have been reading all the messages and have started turning off things one at a time to see if that has any effect.

As I said, there doesn't seem to be any special app that causes it. All of my email accounts are set to Manual, except of course my Microsoft account, which you can't set to manual and there are times when even checking that account, will start the phone heating up. Sometimes, it will be Messaging, sometimes it will be Internet Explorer, or any other browser I have installed. I certainly hope the Official Release will correct any and all of the "bugs" mentioned in all of these messages, otherwise people are really going to be ticked off.

This update is literally the best so I don't want to go back to 8.0. Could it be that the Nokia Lumia 1520's are not capable of running the 8.1 version? I see in some advertising for newer Nokia Lumia phones and ones from HTC, they state "Windows 8.1 update ready". Or, could it be the AT&T configurations that are causing the problems? Don't know, but whatever it is, I hope it gets fixed.

Windows 8.1 os working gr8 on my lumia 1020...loving it..after update do restart your fone...

sent from Lumia 1020 or Note 3 dual sim

Yeah, upgrade, faktory reset. I have got nuch much much better battery life. But screen drains battery fast. With screen on using FB or browsing net for a half hour it consumes 20-30% on lowest brightnes. In standby with turned in 3g data WiFi location glance screen in 12hours with 1hour of listening music and 10minutes of call it consumes only 20%. My old 4core 4.5" droid phone with weaker battery lasted netter. 1 hour of candy crush costed 35% battery and no heat. while angry birds epic on Lumia costed 60% of battery and it turned into electricar hand warmer.

Quote: "Yea my 1520 heats up like crazy. I also noticed that when it is really hot it is when I unlock my phone it tries to resume an app and sits there for while before returning to the home screen. I wonder if something different is now running in the background constantly."

Mine does the same exact thing.

I have almost the same problem..it's annoying and inconvenience. My Nokia 1520 heats up often since after upgrade then continously shutting off and the on and at the same heating up until the battery is completely down. I have no idea on what to do..this is very disturbing and using the phone is a problem as it goes off while I'm using it.
