My Surface 3 registers touches when I am not touching the screen. Is there anything I can do?

I see touches along one of the short edges of the screen. They happen frequently, multiple times per second), and seemingly at random

I have seen phantom touch on my surface 3 a few times...very random and not often, but it's up on the left side of the screen near the address bar, is that the same issue?
