My UK Lumia 640 re-boots when joining free-wifi in spain?

I can log onto free-wifi in UK but when I recently went to Spain the phone finds networks, goes through log-on procedure - asks for passwords etc, logs on then immediately the phone re-boots. All the settings seem right but the only other thing I can see is that it won't automatically update the time zone.
