Why was the boot loader version updated? I don't see how any of these fixes/enhancements could have driven that.

Carl, do you still not get the newer Firmware on the fast ring? Jason (@northfacehiker) asked me, if I would still not get it on fast. Of course I never waited so long and just WDRTed it. If you are on fast and do not get it offered, ping him on twitter.

Firmware has to be double published to reach the development branch (so currently RS2 in slow and fast ring). Jason can do that

No luck on getting it on Fast Ring but I don't know if it's worth going through it all with WDRT. Too time consuming.

When will it roll out to fast ring or is that like NEVER?

I'm living dangerously on fast ring. I'm still on .14 but recall Dona or Gabe mentioning that firmware was independent of ring levels

It needs to be double published for the development branch. At this time, slow and fast are on the RS2 development branch. RP is on the productive branch (RS1). The productive branch gets the FW updates without problems.

My friend on my insistence moved from iPhone to HP Elite x3. His screen is stuck at the hp logo after the update. Soft reset, hard reset would not work. You can't pull the battery out like with the 950. What is the solution?

You can try WDRT and the 'my device is not seen' option. Search for and download the Windows Device Recovery Tool and follow the instructions in the program.

This will erase the device.

The new version of WDRT should recognize the Elite X3 now, it does work for me but not sure if there are variants that aren't recognized. It's unfortunate your friend is having problems with the device, sadly that's a large part of why I finally stopped recommending WP/Windows Mobile to friends and family, fact is most people are not willing to put up with the stuff we may be able to accept :/.
