If the MS WP team had been reading our posts here and added the features we need, WP would have 10% or more market share already on a World wide basis.

they have responded to you at least. It means they listened but we don't know if they are working on it

They listen. But that doesn't mean that everything is easy to do. They have internal priorities also.

GDR1, 2, and 3 will be addressing requests made by OEMs. Mainly hardware support or other key features.

8.1 will be about trying to tackle a bunch of consumer desires.

Is it better to have happy consumers which want to buy a product that fulfills their needs, or to have carriers trying to push a product that most consumers don't want?

Since the OEMs also want to produce what customers want, their priorities are good ones. The top priority shouldn't be what a few of us geeks in a forum want, but what will put the greatest number of phones out there. Like the 520/521, and the upcoming 1520 (which requires GDR3). Just because the top priority doesn't line up with ours, that doesn't mean they're wrong. They need to address the priorities that will increase market share and sell phones. That is what they're doing.
