hi iv just bought the nokia 1020, lovely phone must be said. Im just wondering if theres a way to have alerts come up like missed calls and messages etc without having to press the lock screen? I know you can set alerts on the lock screen but I mean say your phones on a table is there no way of seeing if you have messages or missed calls etc without having to press the lock screen? thanks guys

Nokia Black update allows for notifications on the "Glance" screen. If you have it set to always show that screen, those notifications will always be available for you to see.

hi thanks for the help, I cant seem to make this work. Ive set glance to always on but I just text my phone and didn't touch it but its just gone back to the black clock screen with notification on show

just noticed im on the lumia amber maybe that's why this wont work? so annoying I love the phone but when im at work I don't wanna keep checking it for any missed calls etc

Go to setting- Extra + Info and check if you have Lumia Amber or Lumia Black.

If you have Lumia Amber then you will have to wait for this feature till the next update called "Lumia Black" is released by your carrier

Only AT&T Customers have the update and all the rest are still waiting. We can only hope it is Sooner rather than later
