Next Lock Screen app - bing image varies?

My wife and I both have LG G6s, we both are in the same city, have our phones set up the same. Why does she have a different bing image of the day on our Next lock screen apps. They eventually become the same but why would they ever be different? Does that mean Microsoft sends the image to different phones at different times of the day? It's just weird and seems completely random. Also, it's not always the image of the day on our computer. Sometimes it is, but other times the one on the phone is a few days behind?

Any help understanding this at all??

Each device has its own cache where images are stored. If one phone updates the image while the other doesn’t (due to connectivity issues or app behavior), they might display different images.
