I use samsung Tec Tiles and they seem to work just fine.

Was there anything specific on phone capability, or does the device needs to be nfc ready?

All NFC tags should work, I think they just advertise iPhone, Android, Galaxy etc. hoping people will search for 'NFC iPhone" or something like that.

I bought a set of stickers two years ago, they worked fine on my android and they also work on my new Windows phone.
