No call blocking?

When I used a BlackBerry, I had an app called Call Blocker Pro.

I was able to set it so it picked up and hanged up blacklisted numbers, so they could not even reach my voicemail.

I hope that call blocking will become an available option within the OS at some point, but I'm not holding my breath. I haven't had a phone with that feature for a long time, so I don't really mind. An app that could take care of this would suffice. Not really into paying AT&T $5 a month in order to block a number. Don't understand the need to pay for the service when they used to do it for me free of charge.

The CallBlocking is OEM feature.

China 920 come with Call Firewall, and SAMSUNG ATIV S have it also.

It is dangerous to open the blocking API to public, because anyone can block all call from you.

I've been using YouMail along with the MagikMail app for about a month now. So far so good. Using a different voice-mail box has taken some getting used to, but other than that, I like it. I get lots of complements on how "professional" my voice assistant is, too :)

One thing, new voicemails do not update "right now" sometimes, but given that you can have it configured to send you the voicemails as a text and/or email voice file (or transcribed for a price), I only go into the homepage-pinned MagikMail voicemail box to assess voicemails as an archive.

I also use a "silent" ringtone to set to numbers I know as spam or are unwanted.

Hi, You will find that call blocking is available via the Android Jellybean firmware on Samsung phones and far from being hit and miss it works flawlessly with wildcards as well. It is under the phone-settings menu. I have it on Samsung Galaxy SII, SIII and Note 2.

I hope Nokia implements call blocking! I would love to put all the scammers and telemarketers in the call block list/app. We should all suggest this to nokia

You could try to save all the blacklisted numbers as contacts and link them with one contact e.g. Blacklisted and set to that contact some silent ringtone

That's what I do, and for a bit of fun, I've used one of the characters from fonejacker as a contact pic

all android phones have hundreds of free apps to add whitelist or blacklist for incoming calls, this is a deal killer for me as was just about to purchase a lumia to try, this is seriously poor oversight by nokia.......................

iPhones that r jailbroken might install iBlacklist from Cydia - it does an amazing job. Also, older Symbian phones do have Blacklist aplications that were pretty decent (remembered the days of E61) :D

Verizon only allows up to 5 numbers at a time to be blocked (and only for 90 days)...most companies have dozens of phone numbers to call from...I have personally used up all five and they just start calling me on other numbers...Nokia/widows phones needs to fix this problem...or im going back to android or apple as soon as possible...the calls start as early as 8 am and don't stop until about 9:30pm...sometimes as many as 10-15 times a day *all together*...and I don't have a clue where they got my number from...thinking about changing my number...but then they'd give me someone else' old number that has the same problems im having....so then I get all of their calls...and they (callers) don't believe you when you tell them they have the wrong number!

my Nokia lumia 920T has call and sms filter. But it's china-only phone, so the problem is that you cannot swap to US marketplace. there are plenty of apps in the chinese market, but less english ones (example, skype is not available). but else i prefer it to the 920, the screen seems more white, the buttons are not yellowish but very bright white too, and the GPU is faster.

I wonder if this would be built into Skype. That would be workaround enough for me.
k them and later get the same cra=

with Skype you can block callers after the first call. I keep getting a bunch of spam calls about cleaning my computer of unwanted files from multiple "companies" from many countries that my protection is out of date which its not I just block them and they call back with a different address but same message its a pain but easy to block.

There is no call block for Nokia Lumia 920 yet BUT, I signed up for Magikmail (not lite- the one you pay $1.99 for) All you have to do is create a you-mail account after you download Magikmail. You will be instructed to dial a number from your phone and then issued a pin number to sign in. Once you follow the simple instructions all of your calls will be forwarded to the you-mail voice mail account. You can import your contacts to the you-mail, and choose personal greetings. There is an option for call ditching. The caller will receive "This number is no longer in service". I set my default ringer to quiet (i had to make the ringtone myself with a ringtone app) but when the telemarketers and unknown callers do call, they are forwarded to magikmail and then told the number is disconnected. It takes some effort, but it's worth it if you're patient.

You can block calls on WP 8 on the Nokia Lumina 920, go to call history press and hold number you want to block select block call from menu
