No push notifications with Unlimited Social Networks but no data??

I have a plan with my carrier, it gives me unlimited social networks (facebook, twitter, messenger and whatsapp) and certain amount of data, but then my MB are gone... then even when I have unlimited social networks they stop sending me notifications? I have to open the app to see new messages.

Is that normal? I mean IDK if android and iOS behaves the same when you run out of MB or is a WP thing, or maybe a carrier thing.

I'm using a Lumia 830 with Cyan
