I guess this answers one question that really didn't make any sense when it was originally asked.

Well, they didn't completely answer the question. Out of stock is NOT because of returns for the data bug. But they did not note whether retailers returned/exchanged existing new devices for reflashed phones, which caused a temporary glitch in the Supply Chain. By tomorrow my guess is most retailers will be back in stock with both colors.

But those weren't the insinuations. Lumia 900 could not have had a high demand it had to be because of the memory glitch.
