Nokia Icon auto brightness

The auto brightness doesn't seem to work, when selected it just dims the screen and never brightens even in dark or full sun. I have to set it at low or medium. Am I missing something or is this a bug? Also noticed the nfc tap does not work with the 910 charging stand. I have it set to open up alarm clock and all it does is charge the phone. Again am I missing something or is this a bug? Thanks!
