Nokia Lumia 620 with dementia

Bon Jour mes amis!

I awoke on Saturday morning to find my Lumia 620 had updated over night, I found this a little strange as I thought I would need to confirm any updates to my device. Since that time, it appears my phone has developed some type of techno dementia? Firstly it forgets my text message threads, I send and receive messages but they do not appear on my phone (this would be great if I was James Bond and I needed to send some urgent undetectable messages about the Russian missile plans, but sadly alas I am not and this issue vexes me! Not the James Bond thing obv) Secondly, in it's current state my phone keeps forgetting music files I have stored on it randomly (one day they are there, the next they are not, next day the album isn't there, but the individual songs ARE, it is a puzzler) and finally and possibly MOST worrying of all my phone cannot tell what day or date or even time it is, since Saturday it just can't keep up, for example, I have just readjusted the time and date (24/3/2014 13:00) and within 30 minutes it has managed to lose 2 days and is telling me its 09:06 am? Stupid STUPID phone either I have entered some Dr. Who time vortex thingy or my phone is a massive retard!

I have tried the soft and hard reset methods (take battery out and restart it, and the old 3 finger reset method) but bugger all has helped, I fear my windows phone (which has never let me down before now) is destined for the great windows care home in the sky, where it can spend it's days staring out of the window, pointing at pigeons and saying "wibble"!

PLEASE HELP!!!:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::winktongue::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:

If you don't mind doing a complete wipe of your phone you can give the following a try: http://forums.windowscentral.com/wi...-quietly-releases-software-recovery-tool.html

You just need to do a backup prior to using the software. You'll need W7 or W8 and internet connection and time. Apparently the download can be up to 4GB.

Give this a try prior to sending it anywhere. They'll end up doing something like this anyway, meaning they'll wipe your phone regardless.

3 finger reset? Is this the proper hard reset? You can do so by going to settings-info-reset. Make sure to backup pics, bookmarks in IE, music.
Also format your SD card after/before reset.
And another advice: Before you press reset in the phone, fo to windowsphone.com and delete your phone! It will be all fine after the reset, did it many times. So you just make sure your updates work properly after reset.

Hi

I did as you suggested and...So far so good, everything seems back to normal, I suppose the next few days will be critical if my phone starts forgetting things again but as for now THANK YOU N_LaRUE you are a saint!
