Nokia Lumia 635 keeps crashing (please help!)

I have a Nokia Lumia 635, which I bought 2 years ago. The call and message functions work well, but Internet Explorer has been chronically crashing. Also, in the past week or two, Facebook Messenger kept crashing a few seconds after startup, no matter what I did (even when I uninstalled and reinstalled)!

I was thinking that the crashing may have been caused by downloading many photos and apps that take up a lot of space. I tried uninstalling many of them, as well as deleting photos I don't want anymore. However, it hasn't solved the problem! Please help!

Did you try a factory reset on the device? That's always a good way to see if the issues are hardware based (the hard reset won't fix it) or software based (the hard reset fixes it).
