Nokia Lumia 830 came today. It's in Japanese?

Microsoft Support sent me in a circle. The manual with the phone is in Japanese, the main screen is Japanese (I assume). I am an English-speaking Midwest USA girl. A little help anyone?

just change the language, menu/ settings (small cog) language

Sounds like you got an international model...

There is a chance to change language and region during set up... If you clicked through set up do a Hard Reset to reflash the phone and go through set up again. Go slow. Try and puzzle out things as best you can to get the language set to English. Use your computer browser window to help translate.

Seems strange... as long i know Nokia and MS never launch any WP unit in Japan... hmmm well better illustrate how to change the language:

First enter on the cog symbol that would be Settings.

Then just hit it where the arrow points to.



Then hit the upper option and then a menu with several languages will be available... don't worry you can easily find English. Then bellow the + simbol you can hit it and reboot the phone.



And just in case... i give you the instructions in chinese. Same procedure.
