Used to have 925, now i have 2 1020s. Love them, as i loved the 925. Thery are rapid fast, THE camera is DSLR killer, battery is ok, and i am selling the white 1020 at a good price. No need for a 830 though!

Lumia 830 however the only advantages that it has over my 925 are Lumia Camera 5.0

Lumia 830 on ATT does not come with Lumia Camera 5. The Denim update is a "partial" update, and as such Lumia Camera 5 still does not work. Source: just tried. (also, I am RM-983 variant, maybe its different for the 984 or 985 ones)

Notwithstanding, I owned both. Reasons why L830 wins: better screen, removable battery, SD support, LTE, Better Camera (both sensor & MP), newer, better build quaility (imo, love the metal trim and think its lighter than the 920). Don't remember much performance-wise, but I'm very happy with this phone.

Interesting, I have a Lumia 925. I installed Windows 10 Mobile 10136, it is running extremely well, great new features, the only negative I have experienced is some dup app icons and it responds about 15% slower than 8.1.

I used to own a 920 and a 1020, and just recently got an 830. Aside from the camera and extra RAM on the 1020, I see the 830 as a refresh of the 920 and 1020. I mean so far the response on the 830 is faster obviously from the SD400 over the S4. The one plus I can give the 830 over the 920 and 1020, is the microSD expansion. That's the only thing I hated with the 1020 taking all those pictures, the storage was shrinking quickly. I love the build on this phone with the gunmetal trim.

The 830's speakerphone quality (especially how others hear me) is unquestionably superior to my 920's.
And I would have said just the opposite. My speakerphone quality with my 830 is poor, a lot of vibration / buzz that often renders the conversation unbearable. If I could change one thing on the 830, it would be the audio performance. The rest is fantastic.

Have a 925 sitting in my drawer as a backup. Can't compare it to a 830 or Icon. Never owned those. Bought a 640 from Microsoft store a week ago and so far it gives my Lumia 925 a run for the money.
Picture quality is better with the 925, but the 640 has every other feature I used on my 925.
I really liked the amoled screen on the 925, but the screen on the 640 is nearly as good for what you pay for the 640.
One feature I really like on my 925 was auto brightness which the 640 also has. Definitely a great feature.

Just my opinion, but as far as aesthetics go the Lumia 925 has a better look and feel compared to the 830,930 and Icon.
All quality built phones nonetheless.

Had to use my 920 - which I loved at the time - while my 830 was in for repairs... didn't realize I'd miss my 830 so much. Was happy to have it back and relegate my 920 to backup status once again.

Having both of these phones. 925 for screen resolution, front facing camera, and design. 830 for SD card, fitness tracking, and camera. They are equal.
