Nokia Lumia Black Update Starts Rolling Out Today

With this recent update, the first set of Nokia Windows Phone 8 devices that seem to have been dropped from support are:
810 - T-Mobile (North America-USA)
520 - 3 Italy (Europe-Italy)
720 - Wind (Europe-Italy)
720T - CMCC (Asia Pacific-China)
925T - CMCC (Asia Pacific-China)

I went through the Lumia Black availability pages and these are the phones that show "Not Available" for Lumia Black.

So it begins, devices are now being left behind...

its really unfortunate that carriers won't approve the update because, IMO, Nokia's firmware is the best part. I did not notice a thing going from GDR2 to GDR3 (via developer preview) but the Black Firmware was really nice.

Such a pain....so disappointing for my l810...if we can have joe belfiore force friggin tmobile to release it for us...

I have no idea why the 810 is shown as 'Not available' on the update page. However, Nokia have just added a section to the bottom of the main update page, which shows the 810 as a compatible model for the Black Update:



So it appears that there should be no technical reason why it shouldn't be available for the 810, as Nokia list it as compatible. So my guess, is that T-Mobile are either still thinking about whether to offer this update for the 810 or simply have no intention of ever releasing it. If the latter is the case though, why are they releasing Black on the 521, but not on the 810? Doesn't make sense to me. Hopefully that 'Not available' will change to 'Waiting for approval' for you 810 owners.

It's been around for a while - for a few days exactly: ) I was able to download it and install from wpcentral.com page this morning and I don't have Black Update yet: )

Just updated our 1020 on rogers wireless in Canada. Haven't had a chance to explore too much yet, however, the notifications on the glance screen is a cool feature and our 'other' storage went from a ridiculous 2.8gig to a more manageable 366mb.

Guys just updated to Lumia black...it took about 10 mins...phone has become more snappy and smooth..thou i thougth glance screen gave clocks in more colors... i got just blue and green xtra apart from red. camera is def a great improvement yellow tint is gone. low light there is very less noise. will check battery life after a days use. my memory increased by 2 gb after update, i mean more free space. loving my lumia 1020 even more. folder optiom is awesome. gr8 job Nokia u rock

Please, dont be misleading! The 920 will receive the update. I think it is appropriate they update their latest handsets first, but the 920 will get black and whatever comes next!
