Nokia Maps is a giant step backwards

Re: Nokia Maps is a giant step backwards - Nokia/MSFT blosking maps downloads for US users

I tried the QR code and got taken to the maps download. I am in Northen VA

I get the message "This app is not available for your device" Are Microsoft and Nokia colluding to stop users downloading Bing Maps on the Lumia 922 and force Nokia maps instead?

Your maps suck Nokia. I liked Bing Maps and want it back. If not I might just dump your phone. As nice as it is I dislike your crappy maps and will revert to my old phone

Then easy, use Nokia maps for routing and Bing or Google maps for other usage. Intrix is also coming soon, I loved it on wp7
Sent from my Nokia Lumia 920 using Board Express

Nokia maps seems to be fully pulling traffic now for me. Anyone else see this? I live in the NYC suburbs in CT.

I think Nokia Maps is better than Google Maps. But here in Singapore, Nokia Maps does not provide bus routes for directions, especially at night. Google Maps has a huge advantage over Nokia Maps regarding this. It'll probably take a while before Nokia Maps will include bus routes for direction results, but right now I would either carry an Android phone or stay at home for the night to not get lost.

There is nothing about Nokia Maps I like. Bingle Maps and gMaps are so much better, at every aspect.

I found a trick to get the old maps back...
1- write any address in an email and send it to your self
2- open the email from your phone
3- the address should look like a link
4- click on the link and it will be opened by the good ol' maps app
5- go to settings and download the app

Glad I found this trick as I HATE the Nokia maps!!!!!!!

I have both Nokia maps and google maps on my phone... for the USofA indexing/poi is better on gmaps than Nokia maps. Nokia maps works better for me in S.America/Europe, and since you don't need data to use it, its great for travel.

I guess Nokia Maps will eventually catch up to google maps here in the US, but for now... its not there just yet.

That doesn't work for me. Although, it does open Bing Maps, I dont get an option to download app. I only get Nokia Maps options like download maps or check for update.

Just search for "Maps" (by Mohammed Adenwala") in the Store. It's a shortcut that opens Bing Maps.
