Not receiving Skype notification on WP 8.1

So at some point in time, I am guessing at the last update that added the ability to send pictures, Skype has stopped working unless I am in the app. No notifications on the tile and it has also been removed from notification/action centre options. I have uninstalled/reinstalled and no change. I am on 8.1/cyan not DP and have a 925. Is this is known problem? Any solutions?

I wonder if it's related to cyan. I don't have cyan, just DP Update 1, and I have Skype notifications.

Thanks for your quick reply. I did a soft reset which caused more problems, mainly due to the date and time getting screwed up. Once that was sorted I reinstalled again and it is back to normal. Anyway, an hour of my life wasted but at least it's working now
