Notifications not working after update 1?

Has anyone else experienced the problem of not receiving notifications after installing update 1? I'll give some examples. I have facebook messenger notifications turned on, but the notification will not show in the action center or playing a tone. I only became aware of the notification after opening the facebook app and seeing the little red 1. On eBay, I have "ending soon" alerts activated, but time passes and no alert in the action center and no alert tone.

I am on a Lumia 920. Any ideas?

Scratch that. After a soft reset, the problem appears to be resolved. I don't know why I don't make that my first move every time.
