Office for Windows 10 Mobile requires 365 subscription

I am seeing different information as to what apps and features are available on Windows Phones or screens smaller than 10.1". I am able to download the Word and Excel as individual preview apps which state that I cannot edit ... Anyways, I had the full office on WP8 but since I installed W10M I lost this capability. Hopefully it is resolved and the extra "NOT" is removed in the released version. BTW, I am running OS version: 10.0.10166.0 (slow insider edition). Also seems to be issues with the apps not getting their updates from the store.

As suggested by colinkiama I uninstalled and reinstalled the Excel, Word and PowerPoint on Windows Phone 10, and editing online documents nu longer requires an Office365 subscription.
